About the Role
You will develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise software for index calculation, simulation, and delivery. You will convert architecture into component designs, build high-quality Java software, automate the software lifecycle, collaborate with product and research stakeholders, analyze client questions, troubleshoot issues, and refactor systems for modern architectures.
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in a STEM subject area or equivalent
- 4–8 years of experience in enterprise software development
- Strong experience with Java Spring JDBC Hibernate JBoss Maven Jenkins and JUnit
- Strong Core and Enterprise Java development skills including multithreading and networking
- Python development experience is desirable
- Knowledge of pandas NumPy SciPy and cvxpy is desirable
- Understanding of SQL and NoSQL database concepts
- Experience with Oracle Sybase Snowflake or highly available distributed NoSQL storage is desirable
- Experience developing ETL or ORM solutions is desirable
- Experience developing RESTful web services using HTTP-JSON or gRPC is desirable
- Experience with cloud-native development and Microsoft Azure is desirable
- Experience with Apache Ignite or Hazelcast is desirable
- Experience with distributed event streaming and messaging platforms is desirable
- Experience with Angular or React is desirable
- Understanding of Unix or Linux infrastructure
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms
- Experience with object-oriented design patterns
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience in agile software development with Git JIRA Azure DevOps or Azure Pipelines
- Understanding of equity fixed income real estate investment and trading ecosystems
- Knowledge of equity fixed income or real estate indices is preferred
- Experience with the BlackRock Aladdin platform is a plus
- Experience interfacing with financial industry business partners is highly desirable
