About the Role
You will define and execute procurement strategy, build and mentor a procurement team, and establish strategic sourcing plans. You will manage supplier partnerships and negotiations, optimize vendor programs and performance, advise leadership on market dynamics, and lead implementation of a procurement or ERP platform.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field
- 8+ years of progressive procurement or supply chain experience
- Biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences experience
- Experience building and scaling procurement functions
- Expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier relationship management
- Experience negotiating MSAs, statements of work, and multi-year service agreements
- Experience with ERP and procurement systems such as NetSuite or Coupa
- Experience managing or mentoring procurement staff
Responsibilities
- Define and execute procurement strategy
- Build, lead, and mentor a procurement team
- Develop sourcing strategies for critical categories
- Manage strategic supplier, CRO, and service-provider partnerships
- Lead contract and enterprise-deal negotiations
- Develop preferred vendor programs and optimize the supplier base
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs
- Advise leadership on market dynamics, supplier innovation, and make-versus-buy decisions
- Lead procurement or ERP platform implementation, data migration, process redesign, and change management
