About the Role
You will lead the technical development of an aircraft from requirements through production. You will direct multidisciplinary engineering, make system-level trades, manage technical risks, oversee integration and test activities, guide suppliers, and mentor technical leaders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 15+ years of relevant aircraft development experience with significant technical leadership responsibility.
- Experience leading an air vehicle or major aircraft system through development, build, integration, ground test, flight test, and production.
- Broad knowledge of aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, flight controls, avionics, mechanical systems, and vehicle integration.
- Experience making technical decisions and managing development risk.
- Knowledge of aircraft design, system integration, verification, and validation.
- Experience partnering with manufacturing and suppliers to transition aerospace hardware into production.
- Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Own aircraft architecture, performance, integration, and design integrity.
- Provide technical direction across air vehicle engineering disciplines.
- Lead system-level engineering trades.
- Drive design, build, integration, ground-test, and flight-test execution.
- Investigate technical problems and root causes.
- Identify and retire technical risks.
- Ensure system interfaces are controlled and integrated.
- Partner on production readiness with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and operations.
- Lead critical suppliers and external development partners.
- Mentor engineers and technical leaders.
