About the Role
You will own lease accounting for complex arrangements under ASC 842. You will lead the monthly lease close, maintain the lease subledger, prepare technical conclusions and policies, support audits and disclosures, coach the Senior Accountant, and develop scalable workflows and controls.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of accounting experience
- At least 4 years of hands-on ASC 842 experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA
- Experience leading or mentoring senior and staff accountants
- Experience with a lease accounting system
- Month-end close, reconciliation, and controls experience in a public or public-ready environment
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong communication and business-partner influence skills
Responsibilities
- Own ASC 842 conclusions for complex lease arrangements
- Draft and review lease memos and maintain lease policy
- Own LeaseQuery governance and review lease documentation
- Lead the month-end lease close, journal entries, roll-forwards, and reconciliations
- Review Senior Accountant work and resolve escalations
- Support lease reporting and financial disclosures
- Partner with internal functions on lease intake and portfolio management
- Own SOX controls and audit support for leases
- Coach and develop the Senior Accountant
- Build scalable intake workflows, procedures, and automation
