About the Role
You will support mechanical design, development, analysis, testing, requirements, models, drawings, and specifications. You will evaluate design concepts, help develop test approaches and tooling, analyze engineering data, document interfaces, collaborate across functions, and complete project deliverables.
Requirements
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- Understand fundamental mechanical engineering principles and design methodology
- Use analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Work independently and collaboratively
- Learn and apply engineering tools, processes, and methodologies
- Travel for in-person orientation, program kickoff, and the final presentation
- Be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations
Responsibilities
- Assist with mechanical design, development, and analysis
- Develop, review, and document mechanical models, drawings, specifications, and engineering artifacts
- Define, document, and track engineering requirements
- Participate in trade studies and design-concept evaluations
- Develop test approaches, fixtures, tooling, hardware, and processes
- Participate in testing and evaluation activities
- Collect, analyze, and present engineering data
- Document mechanical interfaces and communicate technical information
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams
- Identify design, process, and operational improvements
- Complete projects and deliverables accurately and on time
