About the Role
You will design and integrate wire harness and electrical interconnect systems for robotic platforms. You will develop 3D routing and 2D drawings, select connectors and components, translate schematics into physical designs, support bills of materials and manufacturing feedback, and maintain controlled documentation.
Requirements
- 3+ years of wire-harness or electrical hardware design experience
- 3D CAD experience
- Experience creating 2D and 3D harness documentation
- Knowledge of harness-routing constraints and electrical integration
- Experience working with contract manufacturers and suppliers
- Ability to work through fast iteration cycles
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain 3D wire-harness routing in system assemblies
- Create 2D harness drawings, flattened layouts, and manufacturing documentation
- Define connector selection, backshells, strain reliefs, and mounting features
- Translate electrical schematics into physical harness designs
- Apply routing, bend-radius, shielding, and separation practices aligned with EWIS and USCAR standards
- Support bill-of-material creation and component selection
- Coordinate with suppliers and contract manufacturers on DFM feedback
- Update models and drawings using prototype and manufacturing feedback
- Maintain revision control and documentation in PLM systems
