About the Role
You will own Solana’s global narrative and reputation, build top-tier media relationships, and manage high-stakes communications issues. You will advise leadership, support ecosystem teams, translate technical changes for varied audiences, coordinate with Policy and Legal, and build measurement systems for narrative accuracy and reputation outcomes.
Requirements
- Approximately 10 to 15 years of communications experience in a high-scrutiny environment
- Experience managing situations with unclear facts and high time pressure
- Direct relationships with tier-one business, financial, and technology journalists
- Ability to translate technical concepts accurately for non-technical audiences
- Experience earning coverage for difficult stories without a news hook
- Experience operating through influence in coalitions, consortia, federated organizations, or open-source projects
- Hands-on communications drafting experience
- Fluency with AI tooling for monitoring, research, drafting, message testing, and adversarial review
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain a global narrative for Solana
- Build and maintain tier-one media relationships
- Lead reputation and issues management during high-stakes incidents
- Provide executive positioning and communications counsel
- Build a bench of credible external technical voices
- Support ecosystem teams with launches, media training, and shared narrative infrastructure
- Translate protocol and governance changes for technical and non-technical audiences
- Coordinate with Policy and Legal on regulatory and legislative communications
- Develop measurement frameworks for narrative accuracy and reputation outcomes
