About the Role
You will troubleshoot field failures, identify root causes, and perform corrective and preventive actions. You will maintain, repair, and upfit fleet systems; support engineering tests; inspect hardware quality; create technical documentation; and safely operate company vehicles and equipment in shop and field settings.
Requirements
- 2+ years of technician experience in autonomous, automotive, aerospace, or a related industry
- Knowledge of automotive electronics
- Knowledge of Ethernet, CAN, LIN, and 100BASE-T1
- Verbal and written communication
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
- Ability to work in a shop or outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to climb, stand, crouch, kneel, and maneuver around truck equipment
- Linux experience
- Experience with terminal-based diagnostic tools
- Clean driving record
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and debug field issues and trace failures to subsystems
- Develop and perform corrective and preventive actions for failure modes
- Diagnose, repair, and identify root causes across mechanical, electrical, and software systems
- Maintain, repair, and upfit fleet systems
- Lead and support engineering test activities
- Inspect hardware quality and resolve manufacturing and build issues
- Create and review drawings, schematics, build instructions, and hardware-quality tests
- Safely operate company vehicles
- Maintain a driving record that meets auto-insurance coverage requirements
