About the Role
You will monitor and maintain customer systems, server hardware, software, operating systems, and deployments. You will manage Linux, virtual, and containerized environments; automate core tasks with DevOps; protect data; troubleshoot systems; create technical documentation and training materials; and provide overnight EST coverage with rotational on-call support.
Requirements
- Be fluent in English
- Be an expert system administrator for Debian-based distributions
- Demonstrate expertise in computer networks, hardware, support, IT security, and tools
- Have experience with cloud, bare-metal, and VPS hosting environments
- Have experience with databases and SQL, preferably MySQL
- Demonstrate programming and scripting skills in Python, Bash, and Ansible
- Have strong Linux, Proxmox, and pfSense experience
Responsibilities
- Maintain customer-system uptime and integrity
- Build and architect systems that maintain uptime
- Document technical designs and create training materials
- Monitor daily operations, including server hardware, software, and operating systems
- Manage Linux, virtual-environment, and containerized-environment deployments
- Work with DevOps to automate core tasks
- Maintain security policies and guidelines to protect data assets
- Test, troubleshoot, and modify information systems
- Work with TechOps, IT, IT Security, and system administrators
- Provide overnight EST coverage and rotational on-call support
