About the Role

Voyager Technologies seeks a Level V Systems Engineer and Project Engineer to lead large-scale defense and aerospace programs, oversee multidisciplinary engineering execution, guide systems integration and verification, manage technical risk, and interface with executives, suppliers, and DoD customers.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.
  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible project engineering, systems engineering, or program-level technical leadership experience.
  • Experience leading large-scale multidisciplinary engineering projects through the full lifecycle.
  • Experience managing large-scale DoD or MDA programs involving system integration and verification.
  • Demonstrated Control Account Manager and technical lead experience under EVMS-compliant contracts.
  • Advanced knowledge of DoD acquisition frameworks, contract structures, and customer interface management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or related STEM field with 10 years of experience; or qualifying master’s degree with 8 years; or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Expertise in system integration, verification planning, risk-based engineering, technical trade analysis, and configuration control.
  • Strong leadership, communication, presentation, analytical, and mentoring skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera, Microsoft Office, Visio, or equivalent tools.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% and work in secure or classified environments.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as chief project engineer or senior technical lead for large, multi-phase defense and aerospace programs.
  • Define system architecture, integration, and verification strategies aligned with mission and customer objectives.
  • Oversee engineering execution across Integrated Product Teams and major subcontractors.
  • Lead technical baseline definition, configuration management, and system integration planning.
  • Support major design and integration reviews, including SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR.
  • Interface with executive management and DoD customers on technical and milestone matters.
  • Manage Statements of Work, subcontractor technical deliverables, and supplier design inputs.
  • Develop enterprise-level risk and opportunity management frameworks.
  • Mentor project engineers and functional leads.
  • Support proposals, cost estimation, and new business capture.
  • Drive systems engineering standards, model-based engineering, configuration control, and process improvement.
