About the Role
You will provide technical direction and programmatic oversight for complex defense and aerospace programs. You will guide architecture, integration, verification, technical baselines, subcontractors, risk management, reviews, proposals, and engineering process improvements.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance
- At least seven years of project engineering, systems engineering, or technical leadership experience
- Experience leading large-scale DoD or MDA programs
- Experience as a Control Account Manager under EVMS-compliant contracts
- Knowledge of DoD acquisition lifecycle and MIL-STD systems engineering processes
- Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams
- Bachelor’s degree with ten years of experience, Master’s degree with eight years of experience, or fourteen years of experience in lieu of a degree
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera, or equivalent tools
- Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio
Responsibilities
- Lead large defense and aerospace programs as a chief project engineer or senior technical lead
- Guide system architecture, integration, and verification strategies
- Oversee engineering execution across integrated product teams and subcontractors
- Lead technical baseline definition, configuration management, and integration planning
- Support major design and integration reviews
- Serve as an engineering interface to executive management and DoD customers
- Manage statements of work, supplier deliverables, and design inputs
- Implement risk and opportunity management frameworks
- Mentor project engineers and functional leads
- Support proposal development, cost estimation, and business capture
- Enforce systems engineering standards and configuration control
- Drive engineering process improvements and knowledge management
