About the Role

You will lead hot cell operations and ensure research work is performed safely and in compliance with approved procedures. You will coach staff, develop work packages, schedule facility activities, troubleshoot operational issues, manage radioactive waste activities, and conduct job briefings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of relevant nonreactor nuclear hot cell facility experience, or equivalent education and experience
  • At least 4 years of nuclear operations experience
  • Demonstrated team leadership experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Department of Energy clearance
  • Pass a pre-placement drug test and participate in random drug testing
  • Complete a pre-hire physical

Responsibilities

  • Lead hot cell facility operations
  • Coach and mentor operations staff
  • Ensure work complies with approved work packages and operating procedures
  • Develop and revise work packages and procedures
  • Schedule research tasks within the facilities
  • Troubleshoot complex operational problems
  • Maintain Hot Cell Operator qualifications
  • Coordinate radioactive waste removal, inspection, segregation, and disposition
  • Conduct pre- and post-job briefings
  • Ensure environmental, safety, health, industrial hygiene, and quality compliance
