About the Role
You will analyze and design pressure-containing rotating-machine structures, including rotors, casings, load paths, and containment cases. You will conduct rotordynamic and modal analyses with turbomachinery engineers, design test-cell structures and fixtures, and take designs from calculations through physical validation.
Requirements
- Experience taking pressure-containing designs from calculation through fabricated hardware
- Experience performing FEA on rotating hardware and correlating it with test data
- Experience owning containment or burst cases
- Experience solving modal and critical-speed problems with aerodynamics engineers
- Experience signing off structures through first loading
Responsibilities
- Analyze impeller, rotor, casing, pressure-containment, and packaged-unit load paths
- Design pressure-containing structures from calculation through fabricated hardware
- Perform rotordynamic and modal analysis with turbomachinery engineers
- Design containment cases for energetic failures
- Design test-cell structures and fixturing
