About the Role
You will develop long-term sourcing strategies for electronic, electromechanical, or mechanical commodities. You will manage suppliers and long-term agreements, negotiate costs and terms, lead risk management, analyze spend and forecasts, and coordinate sourcing execution with engineering, operations, finance, and legal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
- 7+ years of strategic sourcing or supply chain management experience focused on electronics, PCBA, electromechanical, or mechanical commodities
- Experience in defense, aerospace, or high-reliability manufacturing
- Experience in supplier negotiations, cost reduction, and long-term contract management
- Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes including PCB fabrication, SMT assembly, and harness production, or mechanical commodities
- Experience translating technical and commercial data into sourcing actions
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for electronic and electromechanical components
- Own supplier category roadmaps across cost, technology, capacity, and risk
- Conduct make-versus-buy analyses and business cases
- Identify, qualify, and develop strategic suppliers
- Negotiate and manage long-term agreements, supplier reviews, and cost-reduction initiatives
- Lead supplier business and quarterly operating reviews
- Coordinate early supplier involvement during product development and new product introduction
- Manage supply risk and business continuity planning
- Lead cost modeling, benchmarking, and should-cost analysis
- Use ERP/MRP and analytics tools to manage supplier KPIs, spend visibility, and material forecasting
- Develop and mentor sourcing staff
