About the Role
You will lead the architecture and delivery of Commerce Platform systems that power products, bundles, pricing, subscriptions, promotions, discounts, and entitlements. You will drive complex projects from scoping through post-launch iteration, mentor engineers, improve platform reliability, and collaborate with product, data, marketing, and business teams.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software development experience
- Experience building and operating large-scale backend platform systems
- Experience in commerce, billing, subscription management, pricing, or packaging domains preferred
- Experience owning multi-quarter projects with measurable customer impact
- Strong command of distributed systems, API design, and service reliability practices
- Experience defining and meeting production SLOs
- Ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and influence without authority
- Ability to mentor engineers
- Experience with large-scale refactors and performance and reliability issues
Responsibilities
- Lead technical design and architecture for Commerce Platform systems
- Partner with product management and engineering teams to define the technical roadmap
- Drive complex projects from requirements gathering through post-launch iteration
- Mentor and grow engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and technical coaching
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate engineering velocity
- Collaborate with marketing and business teams to evolve product, bundle, promotion, and discount management systems
