About the Role
You will design, build, and maintain secure, scalable backend services and APIs. You will deliver complex projects from technical design through rollout and iteration, build event-driven workflows, improve reliability and data access, and raise code quality through reviews and documentation.
Requirements
- 10+ years of backend engineering experience with Java and Spring Boot building and operating production systems
- System design, API design, data modeling, and maintainable, well-tested code
- AWS infrastructure experience, including networking, compute, storage, and managed services
- SQL database experience with Postgres or MySQL and NoSQL experience with DynamoDB, MongoDB, or Cassandra
- Kafka and message or queue system experience, including delivery semantics and failure handling
- Caching patterns and cache invalidation strategies using Redis or Memcached
- Observability practices including structured logging, metrics, tracing, and logging or monitoring tools
- Computer Science or Engineering degree, or equivalent practical experience
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, evolvable backend services and APIs
- Deliver complex projects end-to-end, including technical design, implementation, testing, rollout, and iteration
- Build event-driven and asynchronous workflows with Kafka and queue-based systems
- Own service reliability through monitoring, logging, alerting, incident response, and post-incident improvements
- Partner with Infrastructure/SRE to build and operate AWS systems
- Define and improve SQL and NoSQL data access patterns, migrations, and performance tuning
- Implement caching strategies using Redis or Memcached
- Raise code quality through reviews, documentation, testing standards, and operational readiness
