About the Role
You will lead the design and evolution of distributed backend systems for production AI capabilities. You will build reliable services, improve performance and scalability, design storage systems, work with machine-learning engineers, mentor senior engineers, and guide technical initiatives from design through production.
Requirements
- 8+ years building scalable backend systems in production
- Experience leading distributed system architecture
- Proficiency in Python, Go, Java, C++, or a similar language
- API design expertise with REST and gRPC
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL database design and optimization
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
- Cloud platform expertise with AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience with developer tooling
- Expertise in reliability, observability, monitoring, and production ownership
Responsibilities
- Lead distributed backend architecture and cross-team technical initiatives
- Build high-performance, fault-tolerant backend services
- Partner with machine-learning engineers to operationalize AI capabilities
- Design and optimize data storage and retrieval systems
- Improve system performance, cost efficiency, and scalability
- Mentor senior engineers and influence the technical roadmap
- Raise engineering quality across teams
