About the Role
Design, build, and maintain backend data services for secure upload, storage, and retrieval of biometric and AI data. Harden systems for privacy and permissioned access, operate container orchestration and automation tooling, respond to incidents on an on-call rotation, improve security, performance, reliability, and software quality, and contribute to data labeling and collection tooling.
Requirements
- Proven backend development experience in senior roles with AI-driven applications
- Strong programming skills in Python and Go
- Experience with GitHub Actions and Terraform
- Experience deploying and managing applications on AWS with permission management and security protocols
- Experience with MongoDB, Redis, and other NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with MLOps and large-scale model training tooling such as MLflow, AWS pCluster, and SLURM
- Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced environments and meet tight timelines
- Excellent English communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-team
- Ability to lead and mentor engineering peers
Responsibilities
- Lead development and maintenance of backend services
- Implement and enforce secure data upload and download processes
- Ensure high standards of data security and privacy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve systems and security
- Manage and optimize container orchestration and automation using Kubernetes, ArgoCD, and Airflow
- Participate in on-call rotations and maintenance duties
- Drive continuous improvement in software quality and operations
- Contribute to labeling and data collection platform development using Next.js
