About the Role

You will design, build, and maintain backend data services that enable secure upload, storage, and retrieval of biometric and AI data. You will harden systems for privacy and permissioned access, operate and optimize container orchestration and automation tooling, and respond to incidents as part of an on-call rotation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system security, performance, and reliability, and contribute to data labeling and collection tooling, including basic full-stack tasks. You will drive software quality improvements, mentor peers, and establish best practices for deployment and operations.

Requirements

  • Proven backend development experience in senior roles with AI-driven applications
  • Strong programming skills in Python and Go
  • Experience with GitHub Actions and Terraform
  • Experience deploying and managing applications on AWS with permission management and security protocols
  • Experience with databases and operations using MongoDB, Redis, and other NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with MLOps and large-scale model training tooling (MLflow, AWS pCluster, SLURM)
  • Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced environments and meet tight timelines
  • Excellent English communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-team
  • Ability to lead and mentor engineering peers

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and maintenance of backend services
  • Implement and enforce secure data upload and download processes
  • Ensure high standards of data security and privacy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve systems and security
  • Manage and optimize container orchestration and automation (Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Airflow)
  • Participate in on-call rotations and perform maintenance duties
  • Drive continuous improvement in software quality and operations
  • Contribute to labeling and data collection platform development using Next.js
