About the Role
You will design and evolve the internal developer platform and foundational infrastructure that enables engineering teams to build, ship, and operate software quickly and reliably. You will build internal tooling and automation, implement infrastructure-as-code and GitOps, and develop observability including monitoring, alerting, and dashboards. You will design and implement AI-powered tools and agentic workflows to automate tasks, improve system reliability, scalability, and performance, and participate in incident response. You will lead cross-team technical initiatives, mentor engineers, run design reviews, and influence long-term platform architecture and operational practices.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, SRE, or DevOps roles
- Strong programming experience (e.g., Go, Python, JavaScript, or similar)
- Deep experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems
- Extensive experience with infrastructure-as-code and automated deployment systems
- Experience designing internal platforms or developer tooling used by multiple teams
- Experience improving developer experience and engineering velocity through platform improvements
- Experience building tools or workflows that leverage AI/LLMs to automate tasks or augment developer productivity
- Strong system design and architectural thinking
- Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives across teams
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- A pragmatic mindset focused on solving real business problems
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve the architecture of the internal developer platform
- Design and build foundational infrastructure that supports growing systems and teams
- Lead the development of internal tooling and automation to improve developer productivity
- Architect and implement infrastructure-as-code and GitOps practices across the platform
- Build and evolve observability systems including monitoring, alerting, and dashboards
- Design and implement AI-powered internal tools and agentic workflows to automate tasks
- Improve system reliability, scalability, and performance across production environments
- Partner with product and infrastructure teams to drive best practices in system design and operations
- Lead technical initiatives that span multiple engineering teams
- Mentor engineers and guide technical decision-making through design reviews and architecture discussions
- Contribute to incident response and drive improvements to operational resilience
- Influence the long-term technical direction of infrastructure and platform ecosystem
