About the Role
You will lead the architecture, design, development, analysis, prototyping, and testing of wire harnesses and cable assemblies for autonomous UAVs. You will route harnesses in 3D CAD, release drawings, perform reliability analysis, support integration, and mentor engineers on harness-design practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering
- 8+ years of wire harness design experience for aerospace or robotics
- CAD skills for 3D harness modeling
- Experience with EWIS design software
- Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards
- Experience with electrical schematics and connector selection
- Experience with harness fabrication or testing
- Ability to obtain an S//SAR security clearance
Responsibilities
- Lead wire harness and cable assembly design for autonomous UAVs
- Own harness design from concept through 3D CAD routing, analysis, and drawing release
- Perform electrical and environmental reliability analysis
- Prototype and test harnesses in mission-critical environments
- Collaborate on integration with avionics, systems, and manufacturing teams
- Mentor engineers and establish harness design best practices
