About the Role
You will lead the architecture, design, integration, and validation of aircraft structures. You will own hardware from concept through design, prototype builds, ground testing, flight testing, and iteration. You will resolve cross-system tradeoffs, partner with manufacturing on scalable designs, participate in aircraft builds, and mentor engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Experience designing aircraft or flight-vehicle structures, mechanisms, and subsystem integration
- Experience owning novel hardware from initial design through sizing, loads analysis, and trade studies
- Experience taking hardware from concept through build, testing, and deployment
- System-level integration experience
- Experience with prototype builds, hardware integration, and test campaigns
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and flight operations
- U.S. citizenship, U.S. permanent residency, or eligibility under applicable export control regulations
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, integration, and validation of critical aircraft structures
- Own aircraft hardware from concept through detailed design, prototype build, ground test, flight test, and iteration
- Drive integration across structures, avionics, propulsion, and payload systems
- Partner with manufacturing to ensure designs are buildable, testable, and scalable
- Participate in aircraft builds, integration efforts, and flight-test campaigns
- Mentor engineers and define engineering standards and best practices
- Resolve system-level aircraft design challenges
