About the Role
You will conduct aerodynamic design and multidisciplinary optimization work for air vehicles. You will run CFD simulations, build aerodynamic and performance models, support wind-tunnel testing, analyze flight-test data, and collaborate with structural, propulsion, and controls engineers.
Requirements
- 7 or more years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 6 years with a Master’s degree, or 4 years with a PhD.
- 5 or more years of aerodynamics or conceptual-design experience on air-vehicle programs.
- CFD software and technique familiarity.
- Python or MATLAB aerodynamic tool-development familiarity.
- Aircraft sizing and conceptual-design experience.
- Problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Conduct aerodynamic design and multidisciplinary optimizations.
- Run CFD simulations and communicate results.
- Construct aerodynamic models using wind-tunnel, CFD, and physics-based data.
- Develop aerodynamic performance models and tools for design and flight operations.
- Support wind-tunnel test campaigns.
- Analyze flight-test data to validate and refine aerodynamic models and designs.
- Collaborate with structural, propulsion, and control-systems engineers.
