Iron was acquired by MoonPay in Q1 2025 and has since become MoonPay Enterprise. The current platform provides stablecoin-focused enterprise workflows including named virtual accounts and fiat collection, institutional stablecoin trading and FX/OTC conversion, stablecoin-to-fiat payouts through local banking rails, and fiat-backed stablecoin issuance with minting, redemption, compliance, onboarding, and distribution infrastructure. It serves wallets, payment service providers, fintechs, enterprises, marketplaces, and crypto platforms.

About the Role
Lead the design and evolution of a data platform supporting analytics, product insights, integrations, and machine learning. Set technical direction, design and implement reliable data infrastructure, lead cross-team initiatives, improve reliability and efficiency, establish engineering standards, partner on regulatory requirements, influence priorities, and mentor senior engineers.
Requirements
- Significant experience designing and evolving large-scale data platforms
- Experience with distributed and stream processing systems
- Deep knowledge of real-time and event-driven architectures
- Experience leading complex technical initiatives across multiple teams or domains
- Experience building platform capabilities, shared services, and reusable engineering patterns
- Strong judgement across reliability, scalability, performance, governance, security, and cost management
- Ability to make high-level architectural decisions and contribute to hands-on implementation
- Experience influencing engineers and stakeholders on shared technical standards and long-term priorities
- Experience mentoring experienced engineers
- Strong communication skills
- Experience working in a regulated environment or designing systems with compliance and auditability requirements
Responsibilities
- Set and evolve the technical direction of the data platform
- Lead complex cross-team initiatives from architectural decisions through implementation
- Design and build real-time pipelines, shared tooling, reusable frameworks, and scalable data infrastructure
- Establish secure, consistent, and efficient engineering paths
- Improve platform reliability, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency
- Partner with Security, Compliance, Product, and Engineering teams on operational and regulatory requirements
- Identify systemic risks and reduce unnecessary complexity
- Strengthen standards for data modelling, pipeline design, observability, testing, deployment automation, and infrastructure as code
- Influence technical priorities and planning
- Mentor senior engineers through design reviews, code reviews, documentation, and collaboration
