About the Role
You will own assigned aircraft electrical systems from requirements and architecture through design, integration, verification, and production support. You will develop electrical documentation, analyze loads and faults, define equipment interfaces, coordinate wiring installation, and execute ground and flight testing. You will troubleshoot anomalies, manage suppliers and changes, and improve electrical design practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 7 or more years of relevant avionics, aircraft electrical-system, or complex electrical-hardware development experience
- Experience owning electrical subsystem development from requirements through integration and verification
- Knowledge of aircraft power distribution, power conversion, circuit protection, and equipment interfaces
- Knowledge of electrical load analysis, voltage drop, wire and connector sizing, grounding, bonding, shielding, electromagnetic compatibility, and fault isolation
- Experience developing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, interface definitions, and component specifications
- Experience troubleshooting electrical hardware with laboratory equipment
- Ability to develop test plans and interpret component, subsystem, and system test results
- Experience with requirements traceability, configuration control, and verification documentation
Responsibilities
- Own requirements, architecture, design, and verification for aircraft electrical systems
- Develop electrical schematics, interface-control documents, equipment specifications, wiring requirements, and load analyses
- Evaluate power budgets, voltage drop, transients, faults, design margins, and component sizing
- Lead electrical integration across avionics, sensors, communications, actuation, propulsion, and aircraft systems
- Define connectors, pin assignments, routing constraints, shielding, separation, and installation requirements
- Execute component, integration, ground, and flight-test verification activities
- Troubleshoot electrical anomalies, investigate failures, and implement corrective actions
- Lead technical reviews, supplier coordination, interface management, and engineering changes
- Support manufacturing and production troubleshooting
- Mentor engineers and improve design practices
