About the Role
You will lead technical discovery with prospective customers, analyze production requirements, and design robotic automation solutions. You will create cost estimates, support customer design reviews, manage multiple proposals, document requirements for deployment handoffs, and visit customer sites for discovery and validation.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a pre-sales technical role
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience
- Engineering degree or equivalent technical education and automation experience
- Automation expertise, preferably palletizing or case packing
- Knowledge of major 6-axis robot OEMs
- CAD drafting and review proficiency
- Ability to manage multiple scopes and deliverables
- Willingness to travel up to 35–40%
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
Responsibilities
- Partner with prospective customers and Sales to understand production challenges and automation requirements
- Lead technical discovery and requirements gathering
- Analyze production data, CAD files, parts lists, and process details
- Design and scope robotic automation solutions
- Produce cost estimates for proposals and deal execution
- Iterate solutions using customer, Sales, and technical stakeholder feedback
- Participate in customer meetings and design reviews
- Document requirements and assumptions for handoffs to Deployment
- Manage multiple proposals and technical workstreams
- Recommend improvements to standard designs, tools, and procedures
- Identify gaps in technical, operational, and commercial offerings
- Visit customer sites for discovery, validation, and scoping
