About the Role
You will support software development, testing, integration, and technical documentation for assigned projects. You will learn existing systems and codebases, develop software features and tools, integrate components, execute tests, troubleshoot issues, document work, and collaborate with cross-functional engineers.
Requirements
- Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrate understanding of fundamental software engineering and programming concepts.
- Be proficient in at least one programming language.
- Be familiar with software development principles, APIs, databases, or related technologies.
- Demonstrate analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Be able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Demonstrate communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Be able to learn and apply new programming languages, technologies, tools, and development environments.
- Be able to travel for in-person orientation, program kickoff, and the final presentation.
- Be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software for assigned projects.
- Learn and work with software systems, codebases, APIs, databases, and development tools.
- Contribute to software features, tools, services, and applications.
- Integrate software components and validate functionality through testing and debugging.
- Develop and execute test cases to verify software meets requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues.
- Document technical designs, implementation approaches, testing activities, and integration steps.
- Collaborate with software, systems, engineering, and cross-functional teams.
- Participate in code reviews, meetings, technical discussions, and training sessions.
- Contribute ideas to improve software functionality, development processes, and team efficiency.
- Complete assigned projects and deliverables within established timelines.
