About the Role
You will serve as a core maintainer of the open-source framework, developing the Crews and Flows APIs used by a large developer community. You will design and maintain framework capabilities, review community contributions, document API decisions, uphold Python engineering quality, and turn community feedback into roadmap input.
Requirements
- 7+ years of Python engineering experience
- Experience shipping and maintaining library or framework code
- API design and developer-experience expertise
- Open-source project contribution or maintenance experience
- Experience reviewing external pull requests, managing issue backlogs, and communicating decisions publicly
- Familiarity with uv, pytest, type hints, pre-commit, and well-tested code
- Working knowledge of LLMs and agent concepts, or ability to learn quickly
- Existing authorization to work in the United States
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain core framework capabilities for agent orchestration, Flows, task execution, tools, memory, MCP, A2A, and public APIs
- Own the contributor experience by triaging and reviewing community pull requests and issues and mentoring contributors
- Document API and developer-experience decisions with backward compatibility and migration paths in mind
- Maintain clean, well-tested Python code, strong typing, and green CI
- Write and improve documentation, examples, and guides
- Partner with runtime and platform engineers on framework versioning and OSS-to-enterprise compatibility
- Engage with the community through GitHub Discussions, forums, Discord, and other channels
