About the Role

You will build a user-space networking data plane for microVM sandboxes. You will develop private network overlays, routing, secure ingress and egress, proxies, and observability while optimizing network scale, latency, and tenant isolation.

Requirements

• Experience with user-space packet processing or virtualized network functions
• Experience building production multi-tenant networking with VXLAN, GENEVE, or VRF
• Experience building software-defined, overlay, or packet-processing networks
• Systems programming experience with Rust, Go, or C/C++
• Experience building cloud networking as a provider
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and routing
• Experience with proxies, load balancers, or L4/L7 gateways
• Experience debugging latency and throughput with packet captures, tracing, and profiling

Responsibilities

• Design and build a VPP-based user-space data plane
• Build multi-tenant private networking and overlays across regions
• Expose networking through programmable APIs
• Improve latency and connection scale for agent traffic
• Build routing for nearby regions and resilient sandbox connections
• Build secure ingress and egress, firewalling, static egress IPs, domains, and managed TLS
• Build L7 proxies for inspection, filtering, secret injection, and auditing
• Own sandbox addressing, IPv6, and network isolation
• Build packet-path observability and debug production issues end to end
