About the Role
You will design, build, and operate Rust backend services for high-volume financial transactions. You will own features through production monitoring, integrate with financial and compliance partners, improve engineering quality, collaborate across functions, and set technical direction and mentor engineers at staff level.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience, or 8+ years for Staff
- Experience shipping and operating production systems at scale
- Backend experience with a statically compiled language
- Knowledge of distributed systems, API design, data modeling, and asynchronous processing
- Experience with correctness-critical software domains
- Critical thinking when using AI tools
- Interest in crypto, stablecoins, and payments
- Hands-on blockchain development experience for Track 3
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate Rust backend services for high-volume financial transactions
- Own features from product specification through production monitoring
- Integrate with banks, payment processors, blockchains, and identity and compliance vendors
- Improve observability, incident response, security practices, and API design
- Collaborate with product, compliance, and engineering teams
- Set technical direction, mentor engineers, and drive cross-team architectural decisions at staff level
