About the Role
You will architect and build software for processing, managing, visualizing, and distributing large-scale geospatial datasets, particularly SAR imagery. You will create backend services, pipelines, databases, APIs, and production integrations while leading development work and supporting delivery practices.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of professional software development experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years
- Ability to write production code in multiple languages including Python and C++
- Ability to lead software developers through the software development lifecycle
- Foundational physics training
- Deep Linux software development expertise
- Experience architecting, prototyping, and integrating large-scale software solutions
- Experience with version control, debugging tools, and collaborative development workflows
- Must be a U.S. Person and eligible to obtain required export authorizations
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and own systems for geospatial data processing, management, and distribution
- Build scalable geospatial data pipelines and backend services
- Develop geospatial visualization, analysis, and data-distribution tools
- Design database architectures, schemas, and data models
- Contribute to service, pipeline, and infrastructure architecture decisions
- Integrate geospatial services and APIs into operational systems
- Translate research capabilities into production software with algorithm developers and data scientists
- Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, optimization, and integration
- Contribute to documentation, configuration management, and software delivery
