About the Role
You will design, build, and operate developer tools and platforms that make software development faster, more consistent, and more reliable. You will improve local development workflows, reusable templates, developer platforms, and AI-enabled tooling. You will partner with engineers to remove recurring friction, drive adoption through documentation and guidance, and use productivity signals to improve solutions.
Requirements
- 4+ years of software engineering or equivalent practical experience
- Technical judgment designing and operating developer tools, platforms, backend services, APIs, distributed systems, or related production software
- Experience owning software from design through deployment, operation, adoption, and continuous improvement
- Experience with AWS and cloud-native development practices
- Experience with Git, GitLab, Backstage, or similar developer-platform technologies
- Ability to collaborate, communicate, advocate for tools and practices, and incorporate feedback
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate tools and platforms that improve the developer experience
- Advance local development workflows, devcontainers, internal developer platforms, and project templates
- Integrate agentic AI capabilities into developer tools and workflows
- Partner with engineers to identify recurring friction and create reusable solutions
- Enable co-development and inner-source collaboration through tooling, documentation, standards, and contribution practices
- Drive adoption of developer tools through feedback, guidance, and communication
- Own solutions from discovery through implementation, deployment, operation, and continuous improvement
- Use DORA metrics, developer feedback, and adoption data to guide investment
- Contribute to technical direction through design reviews and architectural decisions
