About the Role

You will build systems that manage network state, provisioning, configuration, topology, routing, and control-plane APIs. You will scale reliable distributed services, mentor engineers, guide technical decisions and code quality, assess build-versus-buy options, and own infrastructure initiatives from design through deployment.

Requirements

5+ years of professional software engineering experience building production backend systems
Proficiency in Go, Rust, C++, Java, or Python
Understanding of distributed systems, consensus, state reconciliation, fault tolerance, and high availability
Experience designing scalable and reliable APIs or services used by multiple teams
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tooling
Experience collaborating with product, operations, and engineering teams
Ability to mentor engineers and contribute to technical direction

Responsibilities

Design and develop network-state management systems
Build network provisioning, configuration management, topology, routing, and control-plane APIs
Scale control-plane systems as network complexity grows
Mentor engineers and conduct technical assessments and code reviews
Assess build-versus-buy decisions for control-plane software
Partner with product, operations, and engineering teams
Design fault-tolerant distributed control-plane systems
Advocate for CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices
Own initiatives from ideation through deployment
