ARQ serves travelers, investors, and professionals across Latin America who need access to global currencies and financial markets. Users can hold digital dollars and euros, receive and send international payments via dedicated US and European account details, invest in US stocks and ETFs, and spend globally with a card at market conversion rates. The platform is available across Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, and Brazil.

About the Role
You will design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, high-performing backend systems. You will work on greenfield development and improve existing systems, including REST APIs, microservices, card payments, treasury management, transaction booking, and crypto liquidity. You will use Java, PostgreSQL, and Spring Boot while applying clean code, test-driven development, domain-driven design, and continuous integration and delivery practices.
Requirements
- Demonstrable backend development experience with fluency in Java
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or another Engineering or Science discipline
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Track record of building complex products used by millions of people in hypergrowth startups
Responsibilities
- Develop greenfield systems and improve existing systems
- Build REST APIs
- Engineer microservices
- Evolve card payment, treasury management, transaction booking, and crypto liquidity systems
- Develop backend services using Java and PostgreSQL
- Apply clean code, test-driven development, domain-driven design, and continuous integration and delivery practices
