About the Role
You will own the service layer for account onboarding workflows. You will build Node.js and TypeScript services, coordinate asynchronous processing across internal systems and external providers, ensure correctness through retries and partial failures, develop background orchestration and operational tooling, define monitoring and alerting, deploy resilient services on cloud infrastructure, extend workflows to new markets and account types, and coach other engineers.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software development experience
- Experience building and operating production backend services
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience
- Deep Node.js and TypeScript expertise
- Strong understanding of asynchronous patterns concurrency and backpressure
- Production experience with event-driven architecture and message delivery guarantees
- Experience handling poison messages
- Experience building idempotent resumable workflows
- Strong SQL and schema design skills
- Hands-on experience with Docker Kubernetes and a major cloud platform
- Demonstrated use of AI coding agents such as Codex Cursor or Claude Code
- Ability to review and validate AI-assisted code
- Excellent communication skills
- Ownership of workstreams from design through operations and iteration
- Experience with identity verification KYC AML or fraud and risk decisioning is a plus
- Fintech trading or brokerage experience is a plus
- Third-party provider integration experience is a plus
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration frameworks or Statsig is a plus
- Interest in futures derivatives and trading technologies is a plus
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain Node.js and TypeScript services
- Build event-driven asynchronous processing with queues pub/sub and streaming pipelines
- Implement idempotency retry resumption deduplication and reconciliation
- Design background task runners and job orchestration
- Build tooling for inspecting replaying and requeuing stalled applications
- Define service-level expectations and operational monitoring
- Design scalable resilient architecture with Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes
- Extend onboarding workflows to new markets brands and account types
- Coordinate technical direction across dependent systems
- Coach engineers through design reviews and pairing
