About the Role
You will build and operate distributed systems that power cloud services. You will design APIs, workflows, controllers, schedulers, and operational tooling; own systems from architecture through on-call support; improve reliability and performance; and collaborate across infrastructure domains to deliver customer-facing platforms.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent production-systems impact
- Proficiency in a general-purpose programming language
- Experience designing, building, and operating backend services, distributed systems, infrastructure, or platforms at scale
- Knowledge of system design, data models, APIs, failure modes, performance, and production reliability
- Experience owning complex work through testing, rollout, monitoring, incident response, and root-cause improvement
- Experience aligning cross-functional partners and gaining consensus
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate cloud services, APIs, control planes, and platform capabilities
- Solve distributed-systems problems involving consistency, concurrency, scheduling, recovery, and lifecycle management
- Own architecture, implementation, testing, rollout, observability, on-call support, and continuous improvement
- Improve availability, latency, throughput, efficiency, security, and operability
- Turn incidents and near misses into automation, testing, guardrails, and other durable improvements
- Collaborate with product, infrastructure, networking, storage, security, and SRE teams
- Contribute to technical standards, design reviews, code reviews, and mentorship
