About the Role
You will design, develop, and operate backend services supporting card transactions, fraud detection, card lifecycle management, and developer-facing APIs. You will contribute to system architecture, write observable and well-tested code, collaborate with product, risk, finance, and compliance stakeholders, and improve reliability through code reviews and incident response.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience building backend systems in a typed language
- Knowledge of distributed systems concepts including asynchronous processing, retries, observability, and eventual consistency
- Ability to balance correctness, performance, and maintainability
- Ability to collaborate across functions and communicate technical tradeoffs
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services for card transaction processing, fraud detection, and card program management
- Contribute to system architecture and technical decisions focused on performance, fault tolerance, and maintainability
- Collaborate with product, risk, finance, and compliance stakeholders to deliver compliant financial systems
- Write clean, observable, and well-tested code in a service-oriented architecture
- Participate in code reviews, incident response, and reliability improvements
- Evolve engineering practices, tools, and system designs
