About the Role
Design, implement, and optimize block production, scheduling, and verification mechanisms for the Solana network, improving scalability, security, and performance while maintaining shared-memory interfaces, documenting protocols, conducting code reviews, and collaborating with protocol, security, and infrastructure specialists.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with core infrastructure software and distributed systems
- Proficiency in Rust, C, or C++
- Experience with distributed systems and blockchain technology
- Ability to analyze complex systems and develop effective solutions
- Knowledge of common security threats and security best practices
- Experience with performance profiling and optimization techniques
- Familiarity with Linux, systems automation tools, and systems architecture
- Experience designing secure protocols, software, and algorithms
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize block production mechanisms
- Develop and refine scheduling mechanisms for block production and verification
- Identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities in the pipeline
- Improve pipeline scalability for increasing transaction volumes and validator participation
- Create and execute stress tests, fault-injection tests, and performance benchmarks
- Collaborate with core protocol engineers, security experts, and infrastructure teams
- Maintain documentation for block production and scheduling protocols
- Conduct peer code reviews
- Design and maintain high-performance shared-memory interfaces
