About the Role
You will design and build TypeScript backend services for real-time and asynchronous risk decisioning. You will create event-driven workflows and state machines, collaborate on scalable services, review code, deliver projects from design through production, and provide technical leadership and mentorship.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Experience with event-driven architecture, including message queues or pub/sub
- Experience with cloud task or job scheduling systems
- Experience designing or implementing state machines for multi-step workflows
- Strong computer science fundamentals and problem-solving skills
- Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go
- Experience with MySQL and Google Cloud Platform
- Ability to discuss and explain system architecture and design
- Comfort using AI tools in an engineering workflow
Responsibilities
- Design and build TypeScript backend services for real-time and asynchronous risk decisioning
- Build and maintain event-driven workflows using queues, pub/sub, and cloud task infrastructure
- Design and implement state machines for multi-step decisioning and verification flows
- Collaborate with product, operations, and infrastructure to build and scale backend services
- Participate in code reviews and team functions
- Own end-to-end delivery of small to medium-sized projects from design through production
- Provide technical leadership and guide the team's technical direction
- Mentor and pair with other engineers
