About the Role
You will design and maintain high-fidelity detections in Elastic Security, investigate incidents, hunt for advanced threats, and improve response playbooks. You will build automated investigation and response workflows, strengthen AWS security monitoring and system hardening, support compliance initiatives, influence security architecture, mentor engineers, and participate in a weekly rotating on-call schedule.
Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on security engineering experience
- Expertise in incident response threat hunting SIEM digital forensics and scripting
- Experience designing detections automating workflows and improving security operations
- Experience securing cloud-native environments particularly AWS
- Expertise in system hardening network security IAM and security monitoring
- Experience with Elastic Security ES|QL and KQL is highly desirable
- Ability to lead complex technical initiatives from idea through implementation
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Experience mentoring others and influencing technical direction
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain high-fidelity detections in Elastic Security using ES|QL and KQL
- Lead complex incident investigations and threat hunting across AWS Elastic and Datadog
- Refine incident response playbooks and convert findings into security improvements
- Build automated investigation enrichment and response workflows using SOAR APIs and custom tooling
- Improve cloud security monitoring system hardening IAM and security tooling across AWS
- Support ISO 27001 PCI DSS and DORA compliance initiatives
- Influence architectural decisions and promote security best practices
- Mentor engineers and participate in a weekly rotating on-call schedule
