About the Role
You will plan, design, document, and support physical IT infrastructure for offices, labs, manufacturing facilities, and data centers. You will create rack and cabling plans, manage infrastructure records and capacity, coordinate site deployments with vendors, and improve DCIM, documentation, and infrastructure standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data center, enterprise site, or physical IT infrastructure engineering
- Experience designing and supporting infrastructure across offices, data centers, labs, or enterprise environments
- Experience creating rack elevations, physical infrastructure diagrams, cabling documentation, and equipment layouts
- Knowledge of rack design, structured copper and fiber cabling, equipment placement, and physical infrastructure standards
- Knowledge of site and data-center power, UPS/PDU systems, circuit capacity, redundancy, cooling, and airflow
- Experience designing MDF/IDF environments
- Experience with DCIM, IPAM, or CMDB platforms
- Understanding of enterprise networking, switching, wireless, WAN connectivity, and carrier services
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings, floor plans, and low-voltage designs
- Ability to travel periodically for deployments
Responsibilities
- Plan and design physical IT infrastructure for offices, labs, manufacturing facilities, and data centers
- Support site buildouts, expansions, relocations, data center deployments, and infrastructure moves
- Develop rack layouts, MDF/IDF requirements, equipment placement plans, and bills of materials
- Maintain rack elevations, connectivity diagrams, equipment records, cable documentation, and DCIM data
- Plan rack, power, cooling, cabling, and equipment capacity
- Administer and improve DCIM, IPAM, and CMDB platforms
- Maintain infrastructure documentation and labeling standards
- Review floor plans, low-voltage drawings, vendor designs, and statements of work
- Coordinate with contractors, colocation providers, carriers, OEMs, and field-service vendors
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support teams
