About the Role
You will lead the design, implementation, and testing of robotic manufacturing systems. You will create CAD assemblies and workcells, design tooling and mechanisms, select components, integrate hardware, validate designs through analysis and testing, manage technical risks, and maintain deployment records.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in robotics, mechanical engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of robotic system design and integration experience with six-axis industrial robots
- Experience designing 6DOF robot automation systems and end-of-arm tools
- Expert-level SolidWorks and experience with 3D modeling, analysis, and 2D manufacturing drawings
- Familiarity with motion-control systems, robotics programming, and industrial equipment
- Ability to solve technical problems independently
- Communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Willingness to travel to customer sites
- Must meet United States export-control requirements and maintain work authorization throughout employment
Responsibilities
- Gather manufacturing requirements, CAD files, measurements, and design documentation
- Build 3D CAD assemblies and own robotic manufacturing-cell design
- Design robotic workcells, tools, and end-of-arm tooling
- Design hardware and mechanisms for six-axis robotic systems and transporters
- Perform structural analysis and simulation to validate designs
- Prototype hardware using design-for-manufacturability principles
- Select electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic components
- Integrate motors, sensors, and cabling with electrical and software teams
- Troubleshoot and test hardware and automation systems
- Lead mechanical risk assessments and ensure industrial safety compliance
- Define project requirements and coordinate material procurement
- Review BOMs and maintain PDM records
