About the Role

You will build and own the risk function for a multi-asset Trading Venue with distributed ledger technology infrastructure. You will design the risk framework, oversee market surveillance, assess participant and systems risks, evaluate DLT, business continuity, and settlement arrangements, and support regulatory engagement with the MFSA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, law, business administration, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in risk, compliance, or regulatory roles within a Trading Venue, Regulated Market, MTF/OTF operator, exchange, or equivalent infrastructure
  • Understanding of the MFSA regulatory framework or equivalent ESMA-supervised NCA requirements
  • Understanding of MiFID II requirements applicable to Trading Venues
  • Familiarity with DLT-based market infrastructure
  • Analytical ability to assess risk exposures and produce written analysis
  • Ability to operate autonomously and exercise sound judgement
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Eligibility to hold or obtain MFSA PQ Approved Person status

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain the Trading Venue risk management framework
  • Assess the effectiveness of market surveillance arrangements
  • Assess prospective and existing participant trading ability and financial resources
  • Assess the adequacy of systems and controls
  • Evaluate algorithmic trading resilience, capacity, and technology risk
  • Assess risks specific to DLT infrastructure
  • Assess business continuity arrangements against MFSA requirements
  • Support regulatory correspondence, notifications, and reporting with the MFSA
