About the Role
You will design, implement, and operate Kubernetes-based container orchestration and supporting infrastructure across a private cloud. You will automate provisioning and operational workflows, improve reliability and incident response, participate in on-call rotations, collaborate across locations, and contribute to platform architecture and modernization.
Requirements
- 7+ years of platform, infrastructure, or software engineering experience
- Advanced Linux system-administration skills
- Networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and firewalls
- Security fundamentals
- Kubernetes experience at scale
- Experience with cluster operations, networking, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with Terraform, Consul, Nomad, Vault, and ArgoCD
- On-premises infrastructure, bare-metal provisioning, hardware lifecycle, storage, and datacenter operations experience
- Intermediate-to-advanced Bash skills
- Intermediate-to-advanced Python or Go skills
- Authorization to work in the United States without new visa sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain container orchestration and supporting infrastructure
- Develop tooling and automation for provisioning, configuration management, and operational workflows
- Own the availability and performance of critical platform systems
- Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and postmortem processes
- Collaborate with platform engineers in Chicago
- Contribute to architectural decisions, technology evaluations, migration strategies, multi-region resilience, and infrastructure standardization
