About the Role

You will lead the design, build, and operationalization of a state-of-the-art AI Datacenter Network located in Tydal, Norway. You will collaborate with network architects to validate a scalable, high-bandwidth network architecture optimized for AI/ML workloads, ensuring designs follow best practices for modern datacenter fabrics with low-latency, non-blocking performance. You'll specify hardware and software requirements, including high-density switches and high-speed optical interconnects, and oversee documentation of network schematics. You will act as the technical lead overseeing the physical build and logical configuration of the network, serving as the primary local technical liaison and coordinating with vendors and construction teams. Once the datacenter is operational, you will take full ownership of the network infrastructure, implementing monitoring and telemetry systems, defining operating procedures, and serving as the top-tier escalation point for critical incidents.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in network engineering, with at least 3 years focused on large-scale datacenter networks
  • Proven experience with high-speed Ethernet fabrics (100G/400G) and Spine-Leaf/Clos architectures
  • Expert-level knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EVPN/VXLAN, and IP Fabric technologies
  • Strong experience with network security and switch fabric virtualization for secure multi-tenant network infrastructures
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML compute requirements and their impact on network design (RDMA, high-throughput, low-latency)
  • Ability to travel as needed for design collaboration and vendor meetings
  • Experience working in Nordic datacenter environments or familiarity with local infrastructure providers
  • Proficiency in network automation using Python or other scripting languages
  • Certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, or Arista ACE
  • Fluency in a Nordic language (Norwegian or Swedish) is a strong asset, English is required for technical documentation

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with network architects to review, refine, and validate a scalable, high-bandwidth network architecture for AI/ML workloads
  • Ensure the design incorporates best practices for modern datacenter fabrics focusing on low-latency, non-blocking performance
  • Ensure network designs and equipment specifications comply with Norwegian and EU regulations
  • Specify hardware and software requirements including high-density switches and high-speed optical interconnects
  • Oversee development of detailed network schematics, diagrams, and documentation
  • Act as technical lead overseeing the physical build and logical configuration of the network infrastructure
  • Serve as the primary local technical liaison for the network build-out
  • Coordinate logistics, staging, and deployment activities with local vendors and datacenter construction teams
  • Develop and execute comprehensive implementation plans and change control procedures
  • Conduct post-implementation validation and performance testing
  • Take full ownership of the network infrastructure once the datacenter is operational
  • Implement and manage advanced network monitoring, logging, and telemetry systems
  • Define and enforce standard operating procedures for network maintenance and incident response
  • Serve as the top-tier escalation point for all critical network incidents
