About the Role
You will lead the evolution of Podium's mobile ecosystem, designing high-performance, real-time architectures that let AI Agents autonomously handle complex workflows across native iOS and Android apps. You'll implement how autonomous agents interact, think, and perform within these environments, working with cutting-edge tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex to accelerate delivery. You'll take ownership of the mobile development lifecycle end to end, from architectural specs to CI/CD optimization on AWS and production reliability. You'll also mentor engineers across all levels through thoughtful code reviews, and you'll prototype rapidly to navigate ambiguous challenges such as offline syncing of agent states and high-volume data pipelines.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a deep focus on native mobile development
- Proven expertise in Swift and/or Kotlin with the expectation of working in both
- A track record of leading projects, fleshing out requirements, and driving technical strategy for a mobile feature
- Experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex to drive engineering velocity and code quality
- Strong experience with mobile design patterns, threading, and memory management for long-running asynchronous AI tasks
- Familiarity with backend and frontend stack: Python, Elixir, React, and TypeScript
- Strong experience with GraphQL for efficient mobile data fetching and real-time subscriptions
- Experience with modern agent frameworks or implementing multi-step reasoning and orchestration patterns on mobile devices
Responsibilities
- Design and scale the foundational architecture of native iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) applications to support agentic workflows, multi-turn conversations, and real-time AI interactions
- Lead the implementation of mobile-specific AI capabilities, focusing on low-latency streaming, multi-modal inputs, and agentic state management on the client side
- Take full ownership of the mobile development lifecycle from architectural specs to deployment, CI/CD optimization on AWS, and production reliability
- Provide thoughtful code reviews and mentor engineers across all levels to help them level up their mobile and AI craft
- Prototype rapidly and iterate on complex challenges such as offline syncing of agent states and high-volume data pipelines
