About the Role
You will propose, design, and implement machine learning models for AI safety problems. You will integrate theoretical advances into practical algorithms, fine-tune frontier models, design reproducible evaluations, analyze results, optimize performance, and communicate findings with researchers and engineers.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in a relevant field or exceptional demonstrated ability
- 5+ years of deep learning research experience with frontier models
- Experience training, adapting, or fine-tuning frontier models
- Experience with transfer learning, domain adaptation, or meta learning
- Expertise with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX
- Python software development experience
- Experience with version control, collaboration tools, and experiment tracking
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Propose, design, and implement ML models for complex AI safety problems
- Integrate theoretical advancements into practical ML algorithms and models
- Adapt and fine-tune frontier models
- Design experimental protocols and evaluation frameworks
- Analyze experimental data to guide research objectives
- Benchmark and optimize model performance and computing-resource use
- Communicate findings and synchronize work with researchers and engineers
