About the Role

You will design and maintain complex CAD assemblies and develop electromechanical and pneumatic tools for robotic and autonomous-vehicle systems. You will lead reliability work, select vendors and components, integrate sensing with software, build test fixtures, and support field testing and debugging.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with integrated hardware and software systems
• BS or MS in mechanical, industrial, computer, electrical, electronics engineering, computer science, or a similar discipline
• Experience designing complex electromechanical and pneumatic systems from concept to product
• Experience with linear and rotary actuators
• Experience documenting machined parts, weldments, sheet metal components, and assemblies
• Experience creating mechanical drawings with GD&T, tolerances, and BOMs
• Experience selecting, designing, or integrating sensors
• Experience with design for manufacture, reliability, and cost
• Ability to perform finite element analysis
• Experience using shop equipment for rapid prototyping

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain parts and complex CAD assemblies
• Prototype electromechanical and pneumatic tools for automation systems and robotic manipulators
• Lead reliability initiatives through failure-mode analysis, design improvements, and corrective actions
• Select vendors and components based on design analysis, requirements, and performance
• Collaborate with software engineers on sensing and integrated hardware and software design
• Design and build reliability test fixtures for accelerated life testing, failure analysis, and validation
• Support field testing and debugging at local and remote customer sites
