About the Role

You will develop robotic and autonomous-vehicle hardware, define mechanical and electromechanical test strategies, and build reliability fixtures and automated test rigs. You will analyze failures, improve designs, support field testing, prototype tools, maintain CAD assemblies, and integrate sensing with software systems.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with integrated hardware and software systems
  • BS or MS in mechanical, computer, electrical, electronics engineering, or a similar discipline
  • Experience designing and building reliability test fixtures and rigs for electromechanical systems
  • Experience with accelerated life testing methodologies
  • Experience with design for manufacture, reliability, and cost
  • Experience with linear and rotary actuators
  • Experience designing complex electromechanical and pneumatic systems
  • Experience documenting machined parts, weldments, sheet metal components, and assemblies
  • Experience creating mechanical drawings with GD&T, tolerances, and BOMs
  • Experience selecting, designing, or integrating sensors
  • Working knowledge of Python or C++ for test automation or hardware-in-the-loop validation
  • Experience using shop equipment for rapid prototyping

Responsibilities

  • Lead reliability initiatives through failure-mode analysis, design improvements, and corrective actions
  • Own test strategies, plans, acceptance criteria, and pass-fail requirements for mechanical and electromechanical subsystems
  • Design, build, and maintain reliability test fixtures and automated test rigs
  • Perform accelerated life testing, fatigue testing, thermal cycling, and environmental stress screening
  • Support field testing and debugging at local and customer sites
  • Prototype electromechanical and pneumatic tools for automation systems and robotic manipulators
  • Design and maintain CAD assemblies for robotic end effectors, tooling, and autonomous-vehicle hardware
  • Collaborate with software engineers on sensing and integrated hardware and software design
