About the Role
You will lead manufacturing engineering for assigned aircraft systems from prototype development through full-rate production. You will create and validate tooling, processes, assembly sequences, work instructions, and specifications. You will support new product introduction, production readiness, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, supplier readiness, and capacity planning while improving quality, throughput, safety, and cost.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing, industrial, or related engineering
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience supporting complex products
- Experience developing manufacturing processes, tooling, and production methods for complex assemblies
- Knowledge of machining, composites, electrical assemblies, precision mechanical assemblies, or final system integration
- Proficiency with CAD software
- Knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing documentation
- Experience supporting prototype builds, production ramp-up, and new product introduction
- Knowledge of design for manufacturing and assembly principles
- Root-cause analysis skills
- Experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives
Responsibilities
- Lead manufacturing engineering for aircraft systems from prototype development through production
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, methods, and assembly sequences
- Design and validate assembly tooling, fixtures, jigs, and manufacturing aids
- Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, SOPs, and specifications
- Influence product design through design for manufacturing and assembly
- Lead prototype builds, production readiness, first article inspections, and new product introductions
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, quality, ergonomics, safety, and capacity
- Support supplier manufacturing readiness, process validation, and qualification
- Use CAD software to develop tooling concepts and production support equipment
- Mentor associate and manufacturing engineers
- Support production planning, capacity planning, and manufacturing strategy
