About the Role
You will serve as the finance partner for Discovery R&D groups and lead planning, forecasting, budgeting, modeling, and analysis for internal and external programs. You will provide leadership with financial insights, support long-range and scenario planning, build program budgets, support month-end close, and improve FP&A systems and processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
- 8-12 years of FP&A experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences
- Understanding of R&D life cycles, preclinical drug discovery, development processes, and cost drivers
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
- Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite and financial planning tools such as Adaptive Planning or Anaplan preferred
- Communication and presentation skills
Responsibilities
- Serve as finance business partner for Discovery groups
- Lead annual planning, reforecasting, and budget-to-actual meetings
- Develop financial models, budgets, and headcount plans
- Provide financial insights for strategic decision-making
- Support long-range and scenario planning
- Build program budgets for business development efforts and negotiations
- Collaborate on month-end close activities and accruals
- Develop scalable FP&A tools, systems, and processes
- Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects
